10841 Yatris perform darshan on Thursday

Srinagar, July 10 – According to a Spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, 10841 Yatris performed darshan at the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji on Thursday.

The Spokesperson said that 3219 pilgrims left from the Baltal Base Camp and 2107 from Nunwan Base Camp this morning on their journey to the Holy Cave Shrine. He added that another batch of 1735 Yatris left from Jammu to the Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camps today. As of this morning 2,47,798 pilgrims had performed darshan at the Holy Cave.

Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board dispatches expired pilgrims to their native villages

Srinagar, July 10 - Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board today organized the dispatch of two expired Yatris by air to their native villages in Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai.

The body of Smt Kalawati, who died in the tragic helicopter accident near the Holy Cave yesterday, was sent to Bhopal by Indian Airlines flight this afternoon. The Board also organized the air travel of her husband and children to Madhya Pradesh for performing the last rites of Smt Kalawati.
Similarly, one ailing Yatri, Smt Heeru, wife of Mr Raju Panak, who had died while being shifting from District Hospital Anantnag to SMHS hHspital, Srinagar, yesterday was also transported by air to Mumbai. Her husband, Mr Raju Panak, accompanied the body in the Indian Airlines flight to Mumbai via Delhi.

At the Srinagar Airport, the members of the bereaved families, carrying their deceased relations, were seen off by the senior officials of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, Mr B. B. Vyas, visited the Bone and Joint Hospital, Srinagar, last evening and inquired about the health of the injured pilot, Mr Parminder Singh. He also visited the bereaved family of Mrs Kalawati and expressed sympathy with them on their precious loss.

Meanwhile, the two Yatris, who were injured in the helicopter accident, Mr Rajesh Kumar and his wife Mrs Vandana, left for their home after being discharged from the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar, this morning. They had been air rescued from the accident site near the Holy Cave yesterday and admitted in the Institute for specialized treatment.
