Shri Amarnathji Online Donation Service launched by
Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board

Srinagar, July 17- Governor, Mr N N Vohra, today launched the online service, which would enable Shri Amarnathji devotees, across the world, to make their donations on-line.

The donations to the SASB, exempted under section 197 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, can be made at www.shriamarnathjishrine.com

The Governor said that the facility would go a long way in providing satisfaction to those devotees who, for whatever reasons, are unable to pay obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine during the period of the Yatra, to seek spiritual bliss. He indicated that the SASB is also contemplating to provide online Prasad of Shri Amarnathji, comprising Khazana coins with the Shivlingam and the Logo of the Board inscribed on the two sides plus Bailpatri, a sacred shrub used for the Pujan at the Sanctum Sanctorum. The devotees can have the Prasad round the year, particularly on special occasions and festivals.

The SASB has also planned to provide online helicopter and room booking services to the pilgrims, as also registration of Yatris, through its website, from the Yatra-2010 onwards.

The launch of the Payment Gateway follows the signing of an MOU between the SASB and the HDFC Bank. The facility has been devised on the same basis as made available by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, which offers multiple services to the devotees.

The online donation service envisages a variety of payment options to the devotees to make their offerings, which includes direct debit to their accounts with the HDFC Bank, or payment by debit/credit cards of any other Bank. The HDFC Bank will promote the website and the online donation service through its 1412 branches in various States of the country. The Bank is well poised to offer various services to all the leading religious institutions to enable them reach out to their devotees.

Present at the launching ceremony were the Chief Executive Officer, SASB, Mr B B Vyas and Additional CEO, Mr Madan Mantoo while the HDFC Bank was represented by its senior executives.
