Registration for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 from May 10, 2011.
Jammu, May 3 - The process of Yatris’ registration for Shri Amarnathji Yatra -2011 in Jammu and Kashmir shall commence on 10th May, 2011, simultaneously along both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes, through 149 Bank Branches located across the country, and Internet based e-Registration System.
According to Mr. R. K. Goyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), the registration of the Yatris will commence from Registration Counters established in 121 designated Branches of the J&K Bank, 24 Branches of the YES Bank and 4 District Cooperative Banks. Amarnath Yatra 2011 dates - June 29 to August 13, 2011.
Jammu, February 18: Annual pilgrimage to Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnath ji in South Kashmir Himalayas would start on June 29, 2011 and conclude on August 13, 2011 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and Shravan Purnima. A decision for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 dates & duration was taken in a meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) held in New Delhi today. Governor, Jammu & Kashmir Shri. N N Vohra, who happens to be chairman of the SASB, chaired the meeting that lasted three and a half hours.
In another significant decision, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board decided to enhance Heli capacity for the pilgrims during Amarnath Yatra 2011 and reduced one way fare from Pahalgam to Panjtarni from last year’s Rs 3800 to Rs 3495 this year per adult passenger and from Rs 1900 to Rs 1745 for children in the age group of two to 12 years ... more

Srinagar (Kashmir), August 31 – The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, congratulated and thanked the Jammu & Kashmir state administration, Army, Central Police Forces, J&K Police, local stakeholders, people at large and all those who were associated with the management of this year’s Shri Amarnathji Yatra, for contributing towards the smooth and peaceful conduct of the important annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnathji.

The Governor who is also the chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) was addressing the day long post-yatra review meeting at Raj Bhawan. While appreciating the excellent synergy and coordination among the Civil Administration, Shrine Board, Army, Security Forces, State Police and all the Government Departments/ agencies involved with this important annual event, the chairman said that it was the result of such a collective and well-coordinated effort that made the real difference in ensuring the satisfactory conduct of the Yatra. Referring to the post-Yatra review, the Governor advised making full use of the feedback and the valuable suggestions received from the officers who were manning various responsible positions during this year’s Yatra.
The Shrine Board endeavours to plan and manage Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 in a still better way. Emphasizing the need for bringing about continuous improvements in the logistical infrastructure with a view to providing the best possible facilities to the Yatris, the Chairman SASB, laid emphasis on issues like cleanliness in the Base Camps, Camps enroute and the entire Yatra area to preserve the environment and enumerated the measures taken by the Shrine Board in this regard.
Earlier, detailed discussions were held and a number of suggestions put forth by the participants of the meeting in regard to all aspects of the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 in the meeting chaired by the Chief Executive Officer SASB, Mr. R. K. Goyal, with a view to identify specific areas of improvements and include these while planning the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011.
Mr. Goyal said that this year’s Yatra witnessed a host of new and path-breaking initiatives taken by SASB to increasingly facilitate the visiting pilgrims. Referring to the environment protection and pollution control measures, he said that the Shrine Board has technologically upgraded the eco-friendly biological-based Sewerage Treatment Plants at the Baltal and Nunwan Base Camps, besides launching special post-Yatra cleanliness drive.
He also referred to the mobile phone connectivity made available for the first time, adding that this facility enabled the pilgrims to stay connected with their families and also provided real time telecommunication facilities for ensuring effective management of the pilgrimage. He thanked the BSNL authorities for putting in place this important facility.
Senior Officers of the Army, Security Forces, Police, DIG Police (Coordination), Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Comdt, BSF, Srinagar, SP Ganderbal, SP, Anantnag, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Director, CAPD, Kashmir, Director Health Services Kashmir, General Manager, BSNL, Chief Executive Officers of the Pahalgam and Sonamarg Development Authorities, Camp Directors and other functionaries of the Board were prominent among those who participated in the meeting.
