Srinagar (Kashmir), July 4 - After remaining suspended on Sunday due to bad weather conditions and andslides, Shri Amarnath yatra resumed from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes on Monday morning, following improvement in weather and clearance of landslides.
Landslide had blocked the track between Railpathri and Baltal on the 13-km route. The Baltal route is preferred by most of the pilgrims as it is shorter compared to Phalagam route.
Heavy rush of Yatris has been reported for the Annual Pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Shrine. To tackle heavy rush of yatris, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has become very strict not to allow any unregistered pilgrims from today.
Officials said that number of pilgrims who have visited cave shrine to pay obeisance has crossed 92,000 mark.
